Seeing Double

“Double Sunrise”

Tiki torches, discarded after many summer seasons of use, decorate a full garbage can along a cold December creekside street. A frosty end to a long hot life. Put out with the trash.

Small plastic bottles of cheap nasty wine lay crushed and strewn about the tilted parking lot. The background falls down below the majestic high ridges and in between the rushing water tumbles over the ancient gorge. In what appears to be never-ending to the ages. Jack's Hole upper, Mary's Hole lower, Poestenkill Gorge.

Location proves to be all important in the real estate game. The two houses on the hill above the steep gorge sold in record time in a poor economy. Along the flats of the river, in South Troy all the same houses, no matter how nice, bare the same sign year after year.
